Grade Level Indicators

The Ohio Academic Content Standards Grade Level Indicator Checklist Series is designed to function as an easy-to-manage classroom tool. Each student's attainments of the individual indicators at a particular grade level should be recorded for instructional purposes throughout the school year, shared with parents, and passed along to the next year's teacher(s) for on-going intervention. Each booklet contains the Ohio State Board of Education adopted Academic Content Standards Grade Level Indicators for the four core subjects. The indicators are grouped under the relevant standards throughout the series.

Parent Guide
This booklet shows parents what their children will be learning during the school year in the major academic subjects. The parent resource can be used for many programs, including:

• Kindergarten Screening
• Parent/Teacher Conferences
• Orientation Night/Open House
• Improving Home-School Communication

Our goal as educators was to give teachers and school districts a way to record student progress, enabling them to chart a sound independent course for each student. A continuum of data leads to a better understanding of each student's educational progress.
