Do you ever wonder if Pilgrims were crazy? Well, if you are speaking of Mary Allerton, resident pilgrim pretender, then the answer is YES! This is a crazy time of year for us in video conference programming, but also an exciting time. We are swamped with pilgrim requests and video conferences for November! In addition to that, we are finalizing our "REVAMP" our Santa and the Elf program. With Santa in such high demand, it becomes difficult to get everyone scheduled. This year, some of the student sessions may include a visit from Mrs. Claus, or possibly just the "crazy elf Michele", in all cases, your students will have a fun, rich, science aligned video conference welcoming the holiday. I want to take a minute to talk about some of the collaborations happening in our consortium. We have teachers connecting all over the United States with common 2nd grade students to share similiarities and differences of their community, environment, state, animals and habitats. We are so excited about these new partnerships! We also have a 5th grade gifted classroom that is connecting each week with a school in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada and are working on a variety of common classroom activities. Next week, Dover will be teaching the Red Deer students how to make Moravian Star ornaments! Thanks so much for all of your continued support and promotion of video conferencing, it is truly appreciated!
