Quaker Digital Academy

Quaker Digital Academy is seeking an Online High School Science Instructor for students in the Columbus, Portsmouth, and Dayton areas.  This position will be responsible for designing the Virtual Instruction Program in alignment with the district’s total educational philosophy.  The Instructor will also provide direct consultation and guidance to students/parents on matters relating to courses, procedures and learning strategies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback to studetns and parents
  • Communicates effectively with all stakeholders in the Virtual Instruction Program in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills
  • Implements exemplary educational practices resulting in demonstrated student achievement gains
  • Organizes, prioritizes, manages and carries out duties efficiently and within established timeframes
  • Exhibits knowledge of standards-based curriculum and instructional programs and practices
  • Demonstrates operational knowledge of Internet and Web-related technologies
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents and schools
  • Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadliens, honoring schedules, cooridnating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner
  • Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures
  • Ensures continuous student growth and achievement that is appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
  • Alerts administrator when a student, parent or guidance counselor fails to respond to attempts to communicate
  • Monitors extra learning opportunities (ELO) each week
  • Keeps up-to-date with academic warning letters, truancy letters and AIP conferences
  • Completes orientations with 24 hours of notification
  • Completes manual grading no later than the next school day
  • Responds to student emails/messages within one school day
  • Proctors testing sessions (in person and remotely) at designated testing sites
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Ohio Teaching Certification/Licensure
  • Current FBI/BCI fingerprints on file
  • Valid Driver’s license
