2023 Belmont County High Schools’ Art Show

The 2023 Belmont County High School Art Show was held March 30 – April 2, 2023 at the Ohio Valley Mall. Around 250 pieces of art were on display from the following schools: Barnesville, Bellaire, Bridgeport, Martins Ferry, Shadyside, St. Clairsville, and Union Local. The top 5 from each district were chosen for the Teachers’ Choice Award and given a ribbon. The top 3 from each district were placed in the Top 21 and received a rosette ribbon plus a $20.00 gift card. From the Top 21, the public voted on their favorite piece which received the People’s Choice Award: ribbon plus a $20 gift card. Each district had 5 Merit Winners chosen by their teacher. All students received a Certificate of Participation.

Bridgeport: DaVonte’ Smith (Digital Painting), 2nd DaVonte’ Smith (Oil Paint), 3rd DaVonte’ Smith (Oil Paint), 4th Lukas Padgelek (Pen), 5th Collin Blumenauer (Mixed Media). Martins’ Ferry: 1st Trista Regis (Colored Pencil), 2nd Trista Regis (Mixed Media), 3rd Trista Regis (Mixed Media), 4th Trista Regis (Metal), 5th Kylah Florio (Digital). Shadyside: 1st Elena Malolepszy (Acrylic Paint), 2nd Madison Ringer (Charcoal), 3rd Elena Malolepszy (Acrylic Paint), 4th Shae Burkhart (Photography), 5th Makenzie Hess (Graphite). St. Clairsville: 1st Rami Padilla (Wood, GLass, Acrylic), 2nd Jared Holstein (Charcoal), 3rd Sebastian Lewis (Clay), 4th Rami Padilla (Acrylic), 5th Luke Miller (Clay). Union Local: 1st Austin Stoner (Oil Paint), 2nd Austin Stoner (Colored Pencil), 3rd Robbie Laffell (Charcoal), 4th Hailey Romshak (Colored Pencil), Kyleigh Leach (Charcoal).

Special Congratulations to the People’s Choice Winner from Bellaire Schools: Zara Harvath’s coiled vase titled “Mr. Lincoln.”

The exhibit was sponsored by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center for the Belmont County schools that contract for gifted services with the ESC.
