Educator on Special Assignment

Cambridge City Schools

The East Central Ohio ESC is seeking an Educator on Special Assignment  to work with students in Cambridge City Schools.  This position will work with the district school psychologist in the evaluation process of students for special education eligibility and may also serve as part of the district intervention assistance team.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • ODE license may vary – Intervention Specialist, School Counselor, or Pupil Services
  • Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks
  • Preference will be given to an individual who has knowledge of one or more of the following:
    • Intervention assistance team process
    • Training in areas related to design of intervention
    • Analysis of student performance data and progress monitoring
    • Administration of standardized and criterion-referenced individual student assessments
    • Experience or training in reading/literacy, behavior and social/emotional development, special education or other areas that require individual student planning and decision making

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performing case management related to child find
  • Assessing student academic performance/progress via curriculum based measurement, interviews, standardized achievement tests and structured observations of students
  • Intervening with students through planning an straining with the school psychologist or intervention specialist
  • Observing students in the classroom regarding academic and/or behavioral concerns
