Position: Part-Time Custodian

Description: Under immediate or general supervision, the part-time custodian will perform various manual, skilled, and semiskilled tasks involved in cleaning building(s). Will also perform other related duties as assigned and as needed. Candidates must have at least 2 years of prior cleaning experience, be customer-service-oriented, and be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. The successful candidate must undergo a background check.

Overview

• Vacuum all carpet areas nightly and mop tile floors
• Set up a routine to ensure proper building cleanliness
• Emptying trash cans nightly
• Clean and inspect all surfaces regularly
• Dusting all surfaces
• Ordering and organizing cleaning supplies
• Washing windows when necessary
• Collecting and taking out trash and recycling
• Ensures that doors and windows are locked, that lights are turned out, and light bulbs are replaced when required.
• Ability to perform manual labor involving lifting, dragging, turning, standing, bending, carrying, and stretching, often under adverse climatic conditions for extended periods.
• Ability to recognize potentially unsafe conditions and situations and report these to the proper supervisor.
• Clean and inspect restrooms to ensure proper cleanliness
• Clean and wash any necessary appliances in the kitchen area
• Able to use a computer to turn in time sheets
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
