Business Advisory Council

Connecting Schools, Business, and Workforce Opportunities

The East Central Ohio Educational Service Center serves as the lead organization for the regional Business Advisory Council (BAC), bringing together school districts, career centers, and business leaders to strengthen connections between education and the workforce.

Business Advisory Councils help ensure that what students learn in school aligns with the skills and knowledge needed in today’s workforce. Through collaboration between educators and industry leaders, BAC initiatives help students explore career pathways, participate in work-based learning experiences, and better prepare for future employment.

Purpose of the Business Advisory Council

Business Advisory Councils foster partnerships among schools, businesses, and communities. These partnerships help:

• Align educational programs with local workforce needs
• Increase awareness of regional labor market opportunities
• Expand work-based learning experiences for students
• Strengthen career readiness and workforce development
• Support collaboration between educators and industry leaders

Regional Collaboration

The ECOESC Business Advisory Council includes regional business leaders who work alongside school administrators and educators to guide initiatives that benefit students and the local economy.

Together, council members help identify workforce trends, support career exploration opportunities, and create meaningful connections between schools and local employers.
