ECOESC Teacher Recognized as CORAS Outstanding High School Teacher of the Year

Zanesville, OH – The East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC) is proud to share that the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools has recognized The Village Network teacher Jared Clovis as High School Teacher of the year.

Jared has been an integral part of The Village Network for four years, following three years of service at Fox Run. His commitment to education and student welfare extends beyond the classroom, as he also serves as a Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) trainer for the ECOESC, where he trains Intervention Specialists Belmont, Guernsey, Tuscarawas, and Harrison counties.

The recognition ceremony, hosted by the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS), took place on February 21, 2024, at the Ohio University Zanesville Campus.

The event began with a welcome from Mr. Monte Bainter, CORAS President. Other speakers included Mrs. Stephanie Starcher, Dr. John Sonnerberg, Dr. Richard Murray. Two keynote speeches were delivered by Director Steve Dackin of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and Superintendent Paul Craft, the Ohio State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Closing remarks were given by President Paul LaRue of the Ohio Board of Education.
