East Central Ohio ESC - ECO Center
The ECO Center has a new opportunity for a Maintenance/Custodial Worker to join our team at our newly renovated facility! This position is ideal for an individual seeking part-time, evening hours.
Overview:
The Maintenance/Custodial Worker is responsible for the care and general maintenance of ECO Center. This position manages the upkeep of the building and equipment, handles groundskeeping, performs custodial work, and performs routine repairs/maintenance throughout the building as required. Preference will be given to an individual who lives in close proximity to the facility to assist with emergencies and after-hour needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Valid Driver’s license
- Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Prior building maintenance and custodial experience required
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the general upkeep of the ECO Center building, equipment, and grounds/parking area
- Handles the general cleaning of the building, including but not limited to:
- Cleaning, sweeping, mopping of floors
- Stocking and cleaning restroom facilities
- Collection and disposal of trash
- Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies
- Monitors building conditions; recognizes when problems may be developing (e.g., unusual odors, noises, leaks, etc.) and immediately reports or fixes the suspected problem(s)
- Works with the Director of Operations and/or designee to schedule routine maintenance and repairs with outside service providers (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, electricians, etc.) when work cannot be performed in-house
- Performs basic repairs on structure, equipment, and furnishings
- Makes routine updates/improvements to the building (i.e., painting, replacement fixtures, etc.)
- In coordination with the Director of Operations and/or designee, conducts and documents routine safety inspections including, but not limited to emergency lights, alarms, elevators, ground fault protectors, fire extinguishers/systems, and AEDs
- Helps with the receipt of equipment and/or larger deliveries as needed
- Submits requisitions for the procurement of supplies, equipment and other necessary items needed to maintain the ECO Center property
- Acts responsibly to protect district equipment and property. Takes appropriate action during adverse weather conditions and responds to building emergencies as requested
- Assists with maintenance work and projects at other ECOESC locations as required
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed

- 5 hours/day – Monday-Friday, 4pm-9pm
