Computer/Network Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer /Network Technician to join our dynamic IT team at Cambridge City Schools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and software applications. This role requires a strong understanding of various IT concepts and technologies, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Duties

  • Diagnose hardware issues on technology devices, including PCs, servers, printers, scanners, and other peripherals, and make necessary repairs per ECOESC protocols
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals, and software
  • Provide technical support on software including MS Office, Web Browsers, and other
  • Respond to, follow up on, and close all assigned tickets promptly
  • Utilize service request tracking tools to document/report work
  • Maintain all necessary supplies, materials, and equipment with the managing supervisor
  • Ensure the privacy of confidential information, including records and files
  • Escalate tickets to Tier 2 and Tier 3 Team when needed
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Accept coaching and feedback as it relates to quarterly and annual reviews
  • Participate in team meetings and attend organization updates

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in ITIL framework for IT service management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and  protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and logical reasoning to troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to organize and efficiently manage multiple priorities with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • A commitment to staying updated on the latest technology trends and advancements in the IT field.
  • High level of discretion and ability to follow confidentiality protocols.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must clear criminal background check.
