ECOESC Acquires New Alternative School Sites
This past academic year the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC) took on the management of two alternative schools. Knox County CRC in Mount Vernon, Ohio, is a mental health facility that specializes in the treatment of children/adolescents and young adults. Management of the alternative school is in partnership with Mount Vernon Schools and the Village Network in Knox County. The ECOESC has an established partnership with the Village Network.
During the 2021-2022 school year, the ECOESC successfully started a new program Cedar Ridge in Cambridge, Ohio. This alternative school is a partnership with Cedar Ridge Behavioral Health Solutions & Guernsey County Children’s Services. Through this partnership, two new alternative education classrooms will be available in Guernsey County for elementary students with severe behavioral disorders, and there is potential to expand to other grade levels in the future. The ECOESC’s Alternative Education program seeks to provide quality education, counseling, and life skills to struggling students. For details visit www.ecoesc.org/alternative-education.
