ECOESC Partners with JASON Learning
The East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC) received an Ohio Department of Education Regional Education Partnership Grant with the Cambridge Area YMCA Family Center and JASON Learning.
JASON Learning is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1989 by Dr. Robert D. Ballard. It provides both curriculum and learning opportunities for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) areas with projects that place the students in real-world situations. The nonprofit also provides teachers with professional development. Their mission is to “inspire and educate students everywhere through real science and exploration.”
While JASON Learning is based in Virginia, the nonprofit has reached over 15 million students and teachers through online work, after-school programs, broadcasts and webcasts.
The ECOESC was awarded $25,000 to assist with grant facilitation and communication. The grant includes free STEM professional development for ECOESC and district staff as well as free access to JASON Learning’s STEM platform.
