The ECO Center Receives Community Improvement of the Year Award

The ECO Center, owned and operated by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC), was recognized with the Community Improvement of the Year award at the Annual Dinner and Awards Program hosted by the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce on March 12. The annual event brought together more than 180 businesses and community leaders to celebrate local achievements and partnerships.

The award recognizes organizations and initiatives that make a meaningful impact on the community through development, collaboration and service. The recognition highlights the growing role of The ECO Center as a resource for schools, organizations and partners throughout the Ohio Valley.

Randy Lucas, ECOESC superintendent, and Mark Cook, facilities coordinator for The ECO Center, were present to accept the award during the evening program.

The ECO Center serves as a regional hub for collaboration, professional learning experiences, and athletic events. Through its relationships with school districts, agencies, and community partners, the center supports initiatives that enhance opportunities and strengthen connections across the region.

Superintendent Lucas said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of many individuals and organizations who support the mission of The ECO Center.

“This award is a testament to the hard work and vision of our entire team,” said Superintendent Lucas. “I want to sincerely thank everyone at the ESC who has played a part in this success. I am especially grateful to Angie Hannahs, Mark Cook, and Matt King for their dedication, as well as our Governing Board for their unwavering support in this endeavor. It is their commitment that allows The ECO Center to serve as a vital resource for our community.”

The annual dinner and awards program celebrates individuals and organizations whose leadership and service contribute to the strength of local businesses and the community.

ECOESC and The ECO Center are proud members of the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce and value the opportunity to partner with organizations that support growth and collaboration throughout the region.
