In coordination with the ECOESC, Newcomerstown EVSD is seeking a full-time school nurse for the 2025-26 school year.  This position will work with all grade-levels, ensuring that students receive the appropriate care and screenings.

Responsibilities:

• Completes student health screenings (hearing, vision)
• Completes student vaccination audits
• Performs medical trainings with staff as directed by administration
• Assesses medical situations with students on a daily basis
• Completes health plans on students with medical needs and communicate those with the necessary staff
• Effective communication with families
• Arranges preventative health measures for students (Mobile Dentist, Vision to Learn Bus, etc.)
• Documents student health concerns
• Manages medication administration for students in the district
• Assists in referrals for students/families in need
• Completes state reporting requirements
• Inventory and ordering of medical supplies
• Field trip preparation for medical needs
• Kindergarten registration meetings with parents/data collection
• Camps/Washington DC oversight of medical needs/concerns
• AED monitoring for compliance and ordering of new devices when necessary
• Organizes CPR trainings for staff
• Other duties assigned by administrator

Qualifications:

• RN License required
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred, Associate’s degree required
• Prior experience with school-aged children and familiarity with age-appropriate screenings
• Working knowledge of local resources available for family referrals
• Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
• Compliance with drug-free workplace rules & Board policies

Additional Details:

• 184 Day Contract
• M-F, 8am-3pm
