Quaker Digital Academy is seeking a School Health and Wellness Coordinator.

Salary: Up to $36,000/year  ** This position is grant-funded for one year. Renewal is based on grant renewal.

Description:

The School Health and Wellness Coordinator serves as a vital bridge between families, schools, and community organizations, focusing on building meaningful connections and supporting student and family well-being. This role combines digital communication strategies with community engagement to enhance family involvement and awareness in educational settings, ensuring families have access to the necessary information on grant data collection and program reporting.

Overview

Community Engagement & Family Support

  • Coordinate services with community organizations for family connections
  • Contact parents to discuss school culture and the availability of resources
  • Collaborate with community businesses to expand family support networks
  • Assist parents with student issues and concerns
  • Ensure needs of students, parents, and families are being met
  • Collaborate with district social worker to ensure coordination of wellness outreach with existing programs and services

 

Communication & Outreach

  • Coordinate with Family Ambassador to create digital materials and curate existing online resources for health, wellness, positive school climate, and family engagement (e.g., digital posters, videos, etc.)
  • Help build communication between parents and staff, including planned interactions for the school year that help promote wellness and a positive climate
  • Organize and document all communication using log journals
  • Provide event and communication support as needed
  • Use virtual meeting platforms in a professional manner (example: Zoom, Facebook, Tic-Toc)

 

Event Coordination & Programming

  • Assist with internal events for family engagement based on feedback from parents
  • Support event planning and execution to strengthen family-school connections

 

Administrative & Compliance

  • Complete timesheets as appropriate
  • Follow up with School Improvement Coordinator concerning survey results
  • Ability to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential school, student, and parent information
  • Become familiar with all partner grants and assist as necessary
  • Work from home and satellite office when appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in community outreach, marketing, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain cultural sensitivity
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Personal telephone for use within position
  • Reliable transportation for community visits and events
