Instructional Technology Grant

The East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ESC) received a $434,185 RemotEDx Instructional Technology grant to obtain instructional technology coaches for five ESCs including East Central Ohio ESC, Gallia-Vinton ESC, Jefferson County ESC, Muskingum Valley ESC, and Ohio Valley ESC.

The Instructional Technology coaches will offer free virtual sessions to all teachers within the service region. The coaches are Level 1 or Level 2 Google Certified Educators.

The coaching sessions are held on Zoom as either a one-on-one or small group experience.

Administrators are able to schedule sessions for the teachers. Multiple emails can be listed at point of schedule to allow for the zoom link to be distributed to everyone in the group.

The session topics can vary from how to use Google Classroom or other classroom management systems to utilizing specific applications and websites. However, the sessions are aimed at technology integration in the classroom and will not be used as a help desk for technology issues such as broken printers or wi-fi troubleshooting.

The sessions can be scheduled as little as 12 hours in advance. This lead time allows the coach to prepare content and resources based on the requested topic.

Sessions can be scheduled at https://sites.google.com/ecoesc.org/eschelpdesk/instructional-tech-coaching

Coaches will record video lessons and/or podcasts to be placed in the RemotEDx Exchange for all teachers in Ohio to access. Plans for the future include a podcast and YouTube videos tailored to common themes within the sessions.
