The ECOESC has a new opportunity!  We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Network & IT Operations Analyst to join our team. This dual-focused role is critical to the stability and efficiency of our technical infrastructure and the smooth execution of IT operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in network engineering, coupled with strong analytical skills for project management, service management, and compliance support. This role involves close collaboration with the Executive Director of Technology and serves as a key technical escalation point within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A. Network Engineering and Infrastructure Management (Emphasis)

  • Network Design & Maintenance: Oversee the planning, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of all network infrastructure components, including routers, switches (LAN/WAN), firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Wireless Management: Manage and maintain the organization’s wireless network infrastructure, ensuring optimal coverage, security, and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for complex network-related issues, performing advanced diagnostics and resolution.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date and accurate network topology maps, configuration guides, and procedural documentation.

 

B. IT Operations Support

  • Operational Oversight: Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of all IT services and infrastructure.
  • Service & Ticket Management: Assist in the ongoing administration of the IT Service Management (ITSM) system, including period ticket metric reviews, process review, and assisting in defining service level agreements (SLAs).
  • General IT Support: Provide proactive and reactive general IT assistance to support the objectives of the organization..

 

C. Project Management & Logistics Support

  • Project Leadership: Lead and support various IT projects from initiation through closure, focusing heavily on technical implementation and logistical coordination.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor project timelines, identify bottlenecks, and proactively work to resolve impediments and ensure project goals are met efficiently.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships and technical engagement with third-party vendors for network services, hardware, and software.

 

D. Cyber Security and Compliance Support

  • Security Audits: Assist in performing Cyber Security Audits, including identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and recommending remediation strategies.
  • Documentation & Policy Review: Participate in the review and updating of IT security policies, operational procedures, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Security Implementation: Assist in the deployment and maintenance of security tools and protocols relevant to the network infrastructure (e.g., access control, intrusion detection).

 

E. Tier 3 Helpdesk Support

  • Advanced Escalation: Act as the final technical escalation point for the helpdesk, resolving complex hardware, software, and system issues that cannot be handled by Tier 1 or Tier 2 staff.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to help desk staff to improve overall support quality and first-call resolution rates.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in network engineering and IT administration
    • Preference given to applicants with K-12 experience
    • A working knowledge of Cyber Security Frameworks and their implementation
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proven, in-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS) and enterprise-grade switching and routing hardware (e.g., Extreme Networks, Cisco, HP/Aruba)
    • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or CISSP/Security+ are highly desirable
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure
  • Customer Focus:
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a highly personable and approachable attitude
    • Must be comfortable interacting with staff at all levels of an organization
  • Communication:
    • Translate complex technical information into clear, understandable language for non-technical audiences
