Speech Language Pathologist

East Central Ohio ESC

The East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist in the Tuscarawas County area, beginning with the 2025-26 school year.  In this position, the SLP will work with students throughout their assigned district(s) to address individual needs and help students meet or exceed the educational and developmental goals.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio speech/language pathologist license or certificate
  • Record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace and Board policies
  • Training/experience in behavioral management techniques
  • Local travel is required
  • Ability to access community resources appropriate to the needs of students

 

Job Responsibilities:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for the following job duties including, but not limited to the following:

  • Performs home and community-based screening activities
  • Provides follow-up services for children who do not pass screening procedures
  • Performs diagnostic evaluations and follows board-adopted due process procedures
  • Works with intervention assistance team to reach a consensus on a plan for identified students
  • Helps prepare and implement IEPs
  • Develops a service schedule; provides direct interventions using a variety of service delivery models to treat and/or address speech/language disorders
  • Prepares and maintains assigned treatment area(s)
  • Complies with state policies and procedures for the delivery of speech-language services
  • Provides instructions in the use and care of augmentative devices
  • Implements effective pupil management procedures
  • Collaborates with teachers and parents; share knowledge and resources that embrace student learning
  • Documents instructional progress; maintains accurate speech and language service records
  • Promotes a full range of educational options and helps staff resolve problems related to participation of students with disabilities in appropriate peer group activities
  • Prepares year-end reports and recommendations for each student served
